These are the first two pieces in the set of Six Divertimentos which Sor published in London in about 1818-19.
Keep the bass very clearly articulated in the minuet. At bar 7 of the minuet if you wish you can omit the ornaments and play those upper notes simply as quavers (eighth-notes).
Play the waltz with great lightness and rhythm, with the dance-floor firmly in mind. Many of Sor’s pupils were young ladies who would have been very well used to dancing, especially the waltz at that time.
