I am happy to announce a new modern re-engraved edition in Tecla Editions of the Serenade op. 4 by Joseph Küffner (1776-1856) for flute, viola and guitar, edited by Francesco Biraghi. It is an interesting and attractive work, with passages marked Russe (in Russian style) and Hongroise (in Hungarian style) in its Rondo. It is one of three chamber works by Küffner which the Classico Terzetto Italiano in Milan recently recorded with Brilliant Classics. This Serenade op. 4 has not previously been published in a modern edition as far as we know.
We present this work here in a new modern re-engraved edition, score and parts, ready for performance, urtext and authentic, based strictly on the original edition with no modern elements or fingering introduced.
This edition includes a score and separate parts for flute or violin, viola, and guitar.
This edition of the Serenade op. 4 by Joseph Küffner is edited from the original edition: Serenade, op. 4, Offenbach s/M, chez J. André (plate number 3874),1817. Copy: Royal Library, Copenhagen.
