Mauro Giuliani’s fine set of variations on the theme of Handel often called “The Harmonious Blacksmith”, dates from about 1827. The familiar theme was well known in Giuliani’s day; he may have taken it from any number of sources, for example from Moscheles’ set of variations on this theme for piano, op. 29.
This edition is a facsimile of the edition published by Hofmeister in Leipzig in about 1827.
