Mauro Giuliani – Primi lezioni op. 139 is a modern urtext re-engraved edition of these 24 Prime Lezioni, Parte prima (24 First Lessons, part 1), op. 139.
Recent research shows that each of these six pieces, following their earliest known editions, should properly be called Sonatina, not Lezione. They were all first published in Naples by the publisher Girard in 1828, that is to say in the year before the composer’s death, while he was himself in that city.
