Mauro Giuliani – Guitar concerto op. 36 arranged by Diabelli with piano (The Complete Works, Volume 29)

£20.68

Mauro Giuliani’s Complete Works, Volume 29 (Tecla facsimile edition) contains Giuliani’s guitar concerto op. 36, in Diabelli’s arrangement for terz guitar and piano. There are parts for guitar and for piano (no score).  With an introduction by Brian Jeffery.

Diabelli has arranged this concerto in the same way as he did the first concerto op. 30, that is to say that he has kept the original guitar part in A mostly as it was but added some passages, and has specified a terz guitar. The terz guitar is of course a transposing instrument so although it is written in A it actually sounds in C and the piano part is written in C.

The two volumes for this concerto in this Tecla series are:

  • Volume 28: the version for guitar and string quartet.
  • This Volume 29: the arrangement of the concerto which Diabelli made for terz guitar and piano.

Both are in facsimiles of the first editions, parts only, no score.

First published by Tecla in 1985.
