Carcassi’s Six caprices op. 26 are among his most attractive works. All six have imagination and originality without being too difficult, and are ideal for student use. They are presented here in a reprint of the first edition, published in Paris in about 1826, which is clear, legible, and practical for performance today.
Matteo Carcassi (1792-1853) was born in Florence, but lived for many years in Paris. He gave many concerts, appearing for example several times in London. More details about Carcassi’s life and works.
